I recently had a talk with some great guys at Stutern on Persistent Storage in Android and it was a great one. It was an online presentation, my first at that, and all I can say is WOW.
It was a great time for me because I was able to share my ideas, knowledge with the Android interns. It was a time of reflection too given that I was once like them; having to talk to folks and feel their feelings about Android development.
Safe to say that Android development has come a long way. I had to reminisce on my experience with
SQLiteOpenHelper, having to create
Contract classes to access
ContentProviders and a whole lot of other things.
The slides for the presentation is embedded in this post.
This is the Github repo URL. There’s an assignment for those that are interested.
